Adoption Story: Jeff and Debb

Jeff and Debb have depended on Jesus from the very first moments to build their family. After adopting their sons from Ethiopia in 2012 and experiencing the miracle of their adoptions, they were thrilled to complete their family with one more. Here is the story of how this sweet girl came into this amazing family with the help of Christian Adoption Consultants... Jeff and I were blessed by adoption with our two amazing boys, whom we brought home from Ethiopia three-and-a-half years ago! Initially, we thought we would eventually adopt a baby girl too, but we were so in awe of our beautiful family with the boys that we thought maybe we were a complete family.  But we could not deny the constant nudging of our hearts to start the adoption process again for a newborn baby girl. The “nudge” became a strong yearning for our sweet girl, and we started the process in May 2014. We were matched with birth parents two different times, neither of which finalized, as the birth parents chose to parent at delivery. As difficult as it was to endure those failed adoptions, we could not deny the sense that God was in control and was guiding us to exactly THE baby girl He had chosen for us from the very beginning. We clung to this belief.  A few weeks before Jaida’s arrival, our 4 year old started praying, “Please God, will you just let my baby sister plop out of the sky into my lap!?” And that is just what happened! On Wednesday, we received a phone call about a healthy baby girl who was born two days prior, and birth mom had already signed the paperwork! We immediately knew SHE WAS OURS! THIS sweet girl was THE ONE we had been waiting for, for over a year! We immediately scrambled to pack and get our family to Florida to bring our Baby Sis home FOREVER! We couldn’t get to her fast enough!  Immediately upon having Jaida placed in my arms, the anxiety of not being with her vanished and was replaced with a peace and calm…finally holding my baby girl!!! We chose the name Jaida, because it means “He knew”…and God totally knew exactly who He had chosen for us from the beginning! Jaida has been a total and complete JOY, and we are still awed that we have been chosen to be this precious girl’s family!  We will forever be grateful for the beautiful family God has gifted us!  Special thanks to Michelle at Divine Goddess Photography for these beautiful pictures.
